The closing of the first edition of the Digital Music Days conference witnessed a remarkable moment. When the closing keynote left a lasting impression. Throughout the event, attendees had engaged in sessions with industry giants such as Apple Music and YouTube. However, the spotlight shifted towards MERLIN’s CEO, Charles Caldas, as he was interviewed by Chris Cooke, a prominent figure from CMU/The Great Escape. The event organizers bestowed the Caldas award upon him, honoring his outstanding contributions.

As the conference approached its conclusion, Helen Smith, the Executive Chair of IMPALA, and Carmo Cruz, the Director of AMAEI, took the stage to extend their congratulations to Charles Caldas. Manufactured in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, it stands as a testament to his remarkable achievements.

During the closing ceremony, the organizers announced that future editions of the CALDAS AWARD will exclusively honor those who truly exemplify excellence, ensuring its significance remains intact. Charles Caldas, as the deserving inaugural recipient, received heartfelt gratitude once again for his extraordinary contributions.
